January 29, 2007     Uncut Mag <> John & Reza performance
U.K.'s Uncut Magazine, January 2007 issue
(cover:  Beatles), finally appeared in my local bookstore.  On page 116 there is a full one-page review of "Perception" and gave it 4 out of 5 stars.  The next page is a full page color photo of the band, a shot that is not one of those over-used group photos (I'd like to see more of that!)   The last page is an interview with Ray Manzarek.  The caption inside the photo border calls him "Cosmic Ray"   ;=)

John Densmore and Persian musician Reza Derakshani will perform together on March 9th at the OC Pavilion in Santa Ana, California.   This is a small, recently opened theater in Orange County.   For more information, go to:  http://www.ocpavilion.com/

January 28, 2007     missing set lists <> Walk of Fame countdown! <> Amsterdam pix <> Classic Rock poll <> Lizard King musing <> YouTube clips from Lisbon
Alright, some of you observant fans of this site have noticed
that after asking for set lists for the recent Riders On The Storm European tour ... I then did not put up a page or post them anywhere.   I am guilty of being lazy, busy, and some other excuses ...  the main excuse is, though, that I think I only got two show set lists and it did not seem worth the effort.  So, let me try again to collect them and then I will follow through with sharing whatever I get.

30 days to go until The Doors get their greatly deserved and long-overdue star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  The ceremony is at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28th.  I do not have the exact location of the star location yet, but I will have it in plenty of time and will advise it on here.

Riders On The Storm played Amsterdam's Heineken Music Hall on January 4th.  To see photos from the show, go to these links:  http://www.buehnenbilder.com/bilder/Sonstige/RidersAmsterdam1/index.htm   <>   http://www.buehnenbilder.com/bilder/Sonstige/RidersAmsterdam2/index.htm    There are also 3 links to clips which I cannot get to play, but maybe they will work for you:   http://www.buehnenbilder.com/Videos/RidersAmsterdam/MVI_0913.AVI  <>  http://www.buehnenbilder.com/Videos/RidersAmsterdam/MVI_0915.AVI   <>   http://www.buehnenbilder.com/Videos/RidersAmsterdam/MVI_0929.AVI    (thanks, Gerry)

The Doors were voted #11 in the Top 25 Classic Rock Artists of All Time on Philadelphia's WGMK radio station:  http://www.wmgk.com/   (thanks, Jes)

"I Am the Lizard King / I Can Do Anything" is an interesting musing published in The Taunton Gazette today.  I don't know the backstory of it or what brought the writer to reflect on The Lizard King, but it's kind of an interesting read.   read it

Riders On The Storm played Lisbon, Portugal's Coliseum on January 13th.   There are a bunch of clips that appear on YouTube.  (thanks, Pedro)
