Ray Manzarek has his own website now; it just went live on-line today! It looks great and is full of information about Ray's many diverse projects through the years up through current. Be sure to check it out at: www.raymanzarek.com
The Doors of the 21st Century visited the CNN Headline News studios while in Atlanta last week, as discovered while reading the On The Road by the D21C Webmaster. The bad news is that it was confirmed by Webmaster that the appearance was broadcast live that day; I had hoped it was taped for future broadcast so that we would all know about it in advance and be able to see it. Too bad!

October 29, 2003 stranded in Houston with Robby
As mentioned two days ago, the fires ravaging southern California caused numerous flight delays into L.A. Trying to get back home from the D21C show the previous night, Robby was scheduled on the same flight out as me on Monday morning, and we found ourselves with 3 hours to kill at Houston's IAH airport. Go figger, but people seem more interested in the details of the time spent with Robby than my show review ... so, go here

October 27, 2003 set list of Houston show filmed for DVD <> excellent adventure with Robby
The Doors of the 21st Century played their second show this year at Houston's Verizon Wireless last night. The complete L. A. Woman album was performed, and the show was filmed for a forthcoming DVD to be released early in 2004. The "meet & greet" with fans following the show was also filmed for inclusion. A review will be posted within a few days, but the set list can be found here
Hills are filled with fire isn't just a line from one of the best damn Doors songs ... it's a sad and tragic reality that the notorious Santa Ana winds have caused massive wildfires throughout southern California. Those wildfires resulted in flight cancellations and delays into the L. A. area airports today, including my flight back from Houston this morning. It was my extreme pleasure and delight to discover that I would be sharing the 3-hour departure delay with the One & Only Robby Krieger, who was scheduled out of Houston on the same flight as me. Later this week I will write about the highlights of our conversations, so check back.

Blender Magazine, November issue on page 44 under "News Roundup": The re-formed DOORS have hit back at fans' complaints that substituting former Cult singer IAN ASTBURY for JIM MORRISON was a travesty: "[Astbury is] similar to Morrison in many ways," guitarist ROBBY KRIEGER claimed. "He's Scottish-English, which Jim was, and he's interested in shamanism and American Indians." (thanks, Steve C.)

October 10, 2003 updated Ty Dennis website <> Val will always be linked to Jim
Ty Dennis is the lucky (and talented) guy who has been sitting in the drum seat for The Doors of the 21st Century ever since Stewart Copeland was replaced early this year. His website has been updated and deserves another look go here There is also a profile of Ty on this site.
Val Kilmer has been all over television these last two weeks, promoting his latest film, Wonderland. As he was announced on Last Call With Carson Daly last night and coming onstage, the accompanying music was Roadhouse Blues. Despite all of his dozens of outstanding movie roles, his portrayal of Jim Morrison seems to be one that is always referenced.
