Robby Krieger appeared on "Married With Children" in 1992. The episode is entitled 'Rock Of Ages' and includes other 60's rockers Spencer Davis, John Sebastian, Richie Havens, Peter Noone, and Mark Lindsay. The storyline is that Al Bundy is competing to sell the most shoes to win a trip to Hawaii. During the last ten minutes of the show, The Bundy clan encounter Robby and the others in an airport lounge. Robby has both a speaking part and a singing part!!!! This show is being re-run on FX channel on Thursdsay, June 10 at 3:00 p.m. (west coast). Check local listings.

John Densmore appeared in an episode of "Beverly Hills 90210" in 1992, which is currently in re-runs on FX channel. Episode #2.23 is entitled 'Cardio-Funk' and was first broadcast February 27, 1992. John plays Ben, Dylan's sponsor. This episode is scheduled to air on Saturday, June 12 at 7:00 a.m. (west coast time). Check local listings.

8214 West Norton Avenue is the last L.A. residence of Jim and Pam before they left for Paris in early 2001. The building was purchased in 2003 and beginning this month, the property is opening up for private or group tours. The tour will include a walking tour around the grounds of the estate. A dedication ceremony and party is planned for Saturday, July 3rd between 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. to mark the official grand opening of this building, now known as "Cheri Amour." The Doors of the 21st Century recorded the L. A. Woman album in its entirety last year for a DVD release in 2004. The release date of July 20th from Image Entertainment is listed on their website with cover artwork, additional product information, and the song list. (thanks, Daphne) go here

John Densmore's Tribaljazz will finally release their CD this fall on Hidden Beach Records. It is a cultural jam where jazz runs into rhythms from across the globe. Although primarily instrumental, a couple of world-class guest artists contribute vocals. The renowned actress Alfre Woodard makes her hip-hot debut, along with veteran conscious rapper Michael Franti from Spearhead, doing his own lyrics concerning the state of violence in the world. The Doors of the 21st Century make a return appearance to Atlanta's Chastain Park on Saturday, September 18th as part of the Delta Airlines 2004 Concert Series. I believe that tickets have been on sale since May 16th through other channels, but they go on sale through Ticketmaster and Clear Channel at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 12th. more info

The current issue of the U.K.'s Word magazine (cover: rock/film collage) focuses on "How Rock Changed Movies." Included in the cover collage is the familiar image of orange-haired Val as Jim. I haven't seen this issue yet myself, but I have been told that The Doors are mentioned glowingly. (thanks, Alex) see the magazine cover

Adapt, the 3-piece band with Waylon Krieger on lead vocals and guitar, drummer James Beasley and bass player Julian Plascencia, played a 40-minute, 8-song set this evening at Club Lingerie in Hollywood. Waylon's dad Robby and D21C manager Tom Vitorino were among those in the audience tonight for the band's second-ever performance. Next month, Adapt will play a return engagement at The Gig on Melrose Avenue on Wednesday, June 16th, where they debuted last month. Check out their website at www.adaptband.com

May 19, 2004 Golden Scarab out mid-may in U.K. <> release date of MC5 DVD with Ian <> Adapt has another show coming up <> "Behind The Scenes With D21C"

Ray Manzarek's 1974 release "Golden Scarab" is to be released mid-May in the U.K. on Cherry Red, according to the June 2004 issue of ICE, page 33 (cover: Brian Wilson). [note, the magazine erroneously identified the artist as Ray Minaret] A Google search brought up this site which indicates the release date was earlier this week, on May 17th.

ICE Magazine (June 2004 issue) also reveals the release date will be July 6th for the forthcoming DVD from surviving founding MC5 members Wayne Kramer, Dennis Thompson and Michael Davis. Sonic Revolution: A Celebration of the MC5 on Muscletone Records and Image Entertainment, is from a performance last year at London's 100 Club, with Ian Astbury one of the guests who joined the band onstage.

Waylon Krieger is vocalist and guitarist with Adapt, a 3-piece band that also includes drummer James Beasley and bass player Julian Plascencia. Adapt played their first show last month in Hollywood at The Gig on Melrose Avenue, and according to their website, will play a return date there on Wednesday, June 16th. Adapt's next show is tomorrow night, May 20th at Club Lingerie in Hollywood.

When D21C appeared earlier this month at NYC's Roseland Ballroom and CT's Mohegan Sun Arena, I was invited to be a "crew girl" with backstage access to help out wherever I could in the pre-show activities, watch the sound check, etc.. My friend Daphne from Boston shared this great adventure. read about it

Ray Manzarek appeared in a 14-minute 1964 UCLA student film by a fellow student named Jose Gonzalez. "The Wino and the Blind Man" features another UCLA student as a wino, and Ray Manzarek (spelled Manczarek in the credits) as a blind man. Jim Morrison is on the cover of the latest Italian issue of Rolling Stone. The issue contains an 8-page article (in Italian), including a photo of Alan Ronay previously published in 1991 in King Magazine. (thanks, Fred)

Concert performances of The Doors of the 21st Century were recorded last year in Houston and Paris, and possibly other cities in Europe. The release date of that DVD will be July 20th according to an extremely reliable source!
