November 20, 2003 The Doors make Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums list <> alternative ordering method for "Boot Yer Butt"
The Doors at #42, L. A. Woman at #362, and Strange Days at #407, are the results of Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums Of All Time" list according to their Special Collectors Issue. The Ray Manzarek-produced "Los Angeles" by X also made the list, at #286. To see all the results, go here
"Boot Yer Butt" -- the 4-CD box -- was scheduled to be released today. This was supposed to be able to be ordered on-line through this link, but the order function on the site has not been functioning properly. Each time I've gone to the site, the order info from the last person who placed an order was still on the screen. Scary! I called their toll-free number at (800) 993-6344 and placed my order over the phone. I was told that it was on backorder (already?) and will ship on November 26th. I mentioned the site problem to the girl taking my order; she told me that they were having problems with the on-line order form function on the site, and that they were aware of the problem and working to get it resolved. She agreed that ordering by phone was more secure than using their on-line ordering function, for now. Please note: their site indicates that orders over $50. get shipped free (standard shipping), which automatically qualifies this box for free shipping.
