February 27, 2004 D21C shows in the U.K. are on sale now <> Venice, CA may name a new park after Jim-
The Doors of the 21st Century July shows in the U.K. in London, Manchester, and Dublin are all on sale now.
Venice, California is considering proposals of who to name a new park in honor of, and Jim Morrison is one of those. This was reported in a local publication, which indicated it would be on the agenda at last evening's meeting. After finding the meeting minutes, I could not find where this topic was discussed, so maybe it will be tabled for a future discussion.. (thanks, Alex) read it

February 25, 2004 Jim's image used for L.A. tourism site
Of all the famous landmarks and icons which could be used to represent L.A., it is an image of Jim Morrison that gazes out from this tourism site: http://www.losangeles.com/ Based on the detail shown, I recognize this to be from the large mural that faces south on a building on North La Brea at Hawthorne in Hollywood. February 23, 2004 Classic Rock Magazine reviewed Wembley show <> New Years Eve CD set almost sold out <> Boot Yer Butt! to be limited series
U.K.'s Classic Rock Magazine, March 2004 issue (cover: David Lee Roth) has a favorable review of the December 11th D21C show at Wembley Arena in London. As usual, it'll be awhile before we see this issue on U.S. newsstands. (thanks, Alex)
The 'Live In Hollywood, New Years Eve' 3-CD limited edition set is almost sold out. A friend who recently ordered it, just received #936 of 1000. (thanks, Robert)
'Boot Yer Butt!', the 4-CD box set, will be limited to an issue of 5,000. A friend who words at Collectors Choice Music gave me this information. This box set is sourced from actual bootlegs, not soundboard recordings.

The Doors of the 21st Century have added a show at S.E.C.C. in Glasgow, Scotland on Tuesday, July 13th. On-sale information is not available yet. more info
'The Doors: Live In Europe' will be broadcast on TRIO network on Monday, March 1st. Check local listings for times for this hour-long show, if you don't already own it on video or DVD.

February 17, 2004 Jim photos in Linda McCartney exhibit <> review of Ray's appearance last weekend
Jim Morrison photos are among those on display in "Linda McCartney's Sixties: Portrait of an Era" exhibit opening today and running through April 10th. McCartney first photographed the Doors in New York City in 1966 before the band released an album. The exhibit is at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. February 11, 2004 George Winston CD was a Grammy nominee <> story about Ray's new home in NoCal
'Night Divides The Day: The Music of The Doors' -- the George Winston CD released in 2002, was a Grammy nominee in the Pop Instrumental Album category. Unfortunately, that category's winner was 'Mambo Sinuendo' by Ry Cooder and Manuel Galban ... but it's still pretty cool that a CD of Doors music was nominated. Other nominees in that category were: 'Peace' by Jim Brickman; 'Wishes' by Kenny G; and 'N.E.W.S.' by Prince.
Ray & Dorothy Manzarek left the L.A. life last June when they moved to northern California's 'wine country.' A story in today's on-line edition of the San Francisco Chronicle details the re-modeling of their new home, which was completed before they moved in. go here (thanks, Brian)

Morrison Hotel was put up for sale recently by its owners, a San-Francisco-based company. Although no asking price has been set, the real estate broker handling the property expects it to fetch between $7 million and $9 million.
