May 29, 2003 Ray's appearance with CYO, June 2001 <> The Mayor of Sunset Strip movie
Ray Manzarek joined the Contemporary Youth Orchestra on June 8, 2001 in an inaugural concert at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio, in a presentation of the world premiere performance of Riders On The Storm: The Doors Concerto by Jaz Coleman. read here (thanks, Chris)
Ray Manzarek and Danny Sugerman were among the many music celebrities interviewed several years ago on the subject of L.A. radio DJ, journalist, and rock fan Rodney Bingenheimer. The finished movie is now debuting in the L.A. Film Festival on June 17 and 19. As a friend of one of the producers, I was given access to the unedited Ray and Danny footage that was shot. I don't know (yet) if any Ray or Danny footage made the final movie cut. If interested in knowing more about the movie, go here and search on The Mayor Of The Sunset Strip.

May 28, 2003 Doors among Arrow FM's "100 Biggest ..." list <> Ray played LMF with Ohio high school musicians
The Doors ranked #17 on the "100 Biggest Classic Rock Bands Of All Time" according to L.A. radio's Arrow 93.1 FM Memorial Day Weekend list. I suppose one cannot dispute The Beatles being #1, but there are some who finished higher than The Doors, that I'd like to demand a re-count or a sanity check on! (Boston? CCR?) See the full list at: http://www.arrowfm.com/grapevine/stories/topbands.html or here
Ray Manzarek sat in with an orchestra of Ohio high school musicians as part of a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum collaboration in 2001 and played Light My Fire. read here (thanks, Beverly)

Jim's brown leather pants and other Doors memorabilia are on display at Orlando's Hard Rock Vault. May 26, 2003 VH-1 Classic on-line clips <> Hard Rock Vault <> Travel Channel segment <> media reviews of Florida shows <> set lists for all three Florida shows
VH-1 Classics channel began airing segments yesterday of The Doors 21st Century from a visit to the studio a month ago while the band were in NYC for the Roseland show. This is not a continuous program, but instead a series of clips interspersed throughout the programming, and will be repeated frequently within the show called Rock Fest. Check the VH-1 daily schedule here. (note: programs are listed with east coast times). Several clips can be viewed on-line if you do not have access to VH-1 Classics channel. go here
Hard Rock Vault opened in Orlando, Florida in January 2003 with incredible memorabilia not on display around the world at Hard Rock Cafes. Some of it is clearly too valuable to be anywhere BUT here. There are guided tours through amazing rooms of memorabilia and clothing which is not behind glass ... it is right there to inspect (but not touch), including a nice exhibit of Doors items. The crown jewel of that display are Jim's brown leather pants. Also on display are L.A. Woman handwritten lyrics; a signed Robby guitar; a signed John drumhead; a gold 45 record; a gold LP; possibly a few other items I'll remember when the pix are developed. The engraved nameplate by Robby's guitar says Robbie Kreiger ... I pointed out the spelling errors to the tour guide! This is a must-see destination in Orlando. For more info go here.
'Temple Of The Gods' is a Travel Channel segment that will be broadcast during the 4th quarter of 2003. This segment will feature the Hard Rock Vault and include taped interviews with many rock and roll stars, including members of The Doors 21st Century who visited there about a month earlier. Stay tuned to this site for updates about that broadcast, which will surely include footage of the Doors display discussed above.
Media reviews and previews of the Tampa, Orlando, and West Palm Beach shows were added. Follow links. Personal show reviews will be added later. (thanks, Beverly, Daphne, and Dan)
Set lists for all three Florida shows have been added. go here

May 10, 2003 KNAC review of Roseland <> check out tour merchandise
KNAC.COM has a ridiculously off-the-mark review of the Roseland show on their site at http://www.knac.com/article.asp?ArticleID=2025 Mick Stingley wasn't reviewing the show; he had an axe to grind about something or with someone (Ray?), along with a bunch of trite cliches he wanted to use in sentences. There were no comments on the musicianship and scarcely any regarding the actual performance, other than Ian's. The reviewer even suggests watching the Val Kilmer movie instead. Reader beware. (thanks, Larry)
Tour merchandise that is for sale at The Doors 21st Century shows can be viewed on their website at: http://robbykrieger.com/doors/swag.htm Pictured are the baseball jersey shirt in two colors; two tee shirts; bandana; baseball cap; sticker; keychain; and poster (poster is not pictured on the site).

U.K.'s Classic Rock magazine, April 2003 issue (cover: David Coverdale of Whitesnake) has a half-page story on page 14 about Ray's and Robby's reaction to John's lawsuit. This story is a bit dated, as it still indicates Stewart as a band member. There is an accompanying photo of Ian and Robby onstage. read it
