THIS WEEK IN DOORS HISTORY

August 10 --- August 16

1966:  August 10 - 20

The Doors played Whisky A Go Go, West Hollywood, California, along with Love.  Jac Holzman came to see them perform during this period, was not impressed the first time, but returned to the club several more times at the urging of Arthur Lee and Ronnie Harran.

1967:  August 12

The Doors played two shows at Crosstown Bus Club, Brighton, Massachusetts

1967:  August 12

The Doors played Forest Hills Music Festival at Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, Queens, New York, opening for Simon & Garfunkel

1970:  August 14

Jim Morrison & some friends attended a Creedence Clearwater Revival performance in Miami, followed by a Canned Heat show at a club which culminated in Jim joining the band onstage.

1972:  August 13

The remaining Doors performed at the Rock Liberation Festival in San Diego, California

1972:  August 15

The remaining Doors performed at the Ritz Theatre, Staten Island, New York
