SOUNDSTAGE PERFORMANCES DVD

Today I was able to watch the Soundstage Performances -- believe me, Doors people all around the world, this is lot of fun. For a hardcore collector like me there is nothing new about this incredible new DVD release, but what a great audio, what kind of an amazing compilation full with magic and early Doors mystic!

Toronto, Denmark and Critique in the best DTS or Dolby Surround 5.1 mix!  Through my six speakers this is the same as to be there back then in 1967 to 1969, right in front of stage. There is a bigger change of look on Jim, one fast "Changeling" in only two years, the time between Toronto and Critique. For the really first time on a Doors video release the footage is complete and uncut! You cannot ask for more, thank you guys, one great DVD from the beginning to the end.

Well, there is also some shadow. The synchronisation of sound and video isn't always perfect. The video of Critique is not in such a perfect video quality (maybe there wasn't a better master around). Anyway, remember our collection stuff was never around in such high brightness and colour perfection.

A pity is the great photo collection, four pictures on each album page are way too small to enjoy them the way you could, because you are not able to see just one photo at the time. You find 26 album gallery pages with 4 photos on each page.

There are photos in b/w and photos in colour, on stage, backstage, a nice collection with the Doors in the garden etc.   A full screen photo would have improved a lot the quality of each photo shot. This way the look is nice, but you miss all the time a better photo quality.  Was this a problem of copyrights?  Come on guys, there is plenty of space on a DVD, or not?

The interviews are nice and very interesting. And just after seeing The End from Toronto, I was convinced the DVD is worth the 25 dollars I paid for. Be sure to get this amazing new DVD at your music store, and enjoy your time and the great music.
