Christchurch filmmaker delves into various pop culture conspiracies, including death of Princess of Wales

A Christchurch filmmaker has won an international award for delving into various pop culture conspiracies, including the Parisian death of the Princess of Wales.

Aaron Keown has scooped Best International Documentary at the New York Independent Film Festival.

His feature "Pop" looks at people like Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Janis Joplin, Bruce Lee and Jim Morrison.

Mr Keown says there are scary theories about some celebrity deaths. The movie claims all the security cameras were turned off in Paris the night Princess Diana was killed.
