RIDERS ON THE STORM

Congress Theater, Chicago, Illinois

the following review was shared by fan Alex:

It was truly another great show ....  these guys are just so tight.   Ian was in a fantastic mood... talking to the front of the crowd after Break on Through, telling people who requested songs (Soft Parade and Gloria were requested) that the band can't do them (but he was smiling the whole time).

Ian gave out two tambourines during the show to little girls in the platinum ticket area (the girls were, like, 10 years old).   Like I said:  he was in a special mood ...  just smiling a lot.

One sad moment came at the end of the show.   Ian and Ray brought out every member of the road crew to take a bow.   They brought out Tom, Marco, Rick and absolutely everybody.   Ray introduced them all and they all took a bow.   Following that, Ian urged every fan there to go to thedoors.com and johndensmore.com to show your love for the band.   He said they've only got 2 shows left and that it's up to us fans if they come back.   It was sad simply because it really feels like this might be the end.

Anyway, like I said, it was truly yet another flawless performance.   I'm still impressed at how well these guys have gotten with signaling changes mid-song, and Ian has gotten to be amazing with the lyrics - never forgetting them anymore.

After Break On Through, Ray got up to talk to everyone in the band.   He really wanted to play the new song, Eagle In The Whirlpool, but I found out after the show they didn't have lyrics printed up anywhere, so Ian couldn't sing it.   WHAT A BUMMER!!
