My father, brother, brother-in-law and i arrived in Weert and we were in good spirit.  We entered the field and listened to the music that was being played. A few minutes past nine the announcers asked as if we were ready.  The crowd was hungry and ready to ride the snake again. The crowed slowly moved forward the stage.  Young people, people who were there when The Doors broke through in the sixties.  Happy people drinking bear and smoking grass.  The Doors of the 21st Century entered the stage and people were screaming.   They waved to the crowd and they started the show with Roadhouse blues, Break On Through and When The Music's Over.  We all knew we were going to have a real good time.

Sometimes people looked up to the sky, because it was clouded.  We have very bad weather in Holland this summer.   And believe it or not, all hell broke loose when The Doors of the 21st Century played Riders On The Storm.   It has happened before in America.

Ray Manzarek was having a good time.   On the opening notes of Touch Me he started to dance a little.  Later on he talked to the crowd, that we were back at Woodstock:. the open air, the rain.  He called it the Woodstock of the 21st Century.  It was raining very hard, but still people were dancing and smiling.

Ray Manzarek started to play Louie Louie, from Rick and the Ravens, and everyone joined him.  Ian was screaming his heart out on Five To One.  Robby Krieger was also having a real good time, singing and playing on his guitar.  My companions never complained about the rain.  It gave the night something special.  When they started to play LA Woman, you could really feel the energy coming from the stage.  Pure magic.  Then they left and came back and played Light My Fire and another song.  Funny I can't remember.  Maybe I  am still full of energy from last night's performance;  it will come to me later.   Anyway, a few minutes past eleven they said goodbye and the show was over.

Seeing all the happy faces leaving the field, people singing songs:  it was fantastic and it proves that this music is timeless.  The Doors are open for everyone.

I really had a good time.   I think I am spending the day listening to Boot Yer Butt!   I am sure looking forward to the DVD of the Doors of the 21st Century.   I also hope that they will come back again because I just can't get enough.
